Origami Owl Witchy Party

Back a few weeks ago on Saturday, October 4th I had an Origami Owl Jewelry Party. I had already purchased one of these lockets last year and I loved it. I kept my eye out for when the Halloween charms were coming out and wanted to plan it according to that. When they came out I couldn't help but fall in love with the little witch hat and knew I wanted to do a party. I asked a bunch of the girls if they were interested and they were. Then I had to set out to find an Independent Designer. A friend put me in touch with the best person. She was just awesome and so much fun.

I decided to make my party Witch themed, for my love of the little Witch Hat charm. So off to Pinterest I went looking for inspiration for the party.

I started off by making the girls these little party favor witch hats they could pin to their hair with bobby pins.

I also made little witch hat and broom stick candies. These were so easy and fun to make.

Here is my table set up:

I made these Chocolate Cream Cheese frosted Pumpkin Muffins.

Also for food I made a bean dip, veggie tray, and buffalo chicken taquitos. Everybody seemed to really like the taquitos.

For drinks I made Butterbeer and an Apple Cider Sangria. I don't tend to stick to exact recipes I find on pinterest, I end up modifying them a bit. Both came out amazing!

Here are some of us girls with our little hats on:

This is a picture of my purchase from the party. I did end up buying other charms but just made a halloween themed locket.

I had a blast planning and having this party. It was great to get together with the girls and just hang out and look at pretty jewelry. I think I might try and plan a big girl's night out party at least once a year.

Porcelain Skull

I finally finished the porcelain skull I bought back in August. This was a fun project, but it took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do to it. I came across this picture on pinterest and that became my inspiration.

This is the unfinished piece right after I purchased it:

I then took it and painted it so that it looked old and worn down. The lighting on this one is a bit more yellow than it really is.

I had then sent out this image as a teaser on Instagram. The lighting is still a bit to yellow, I guess it's a combination of the light that is on above it and my iPhone.

After looking at it for a few days I decided there were parts of it that I didn't like, and when I picked it up some of the jewels fell right off. I pulled them all off and started over gluing them down with hobby glue.

Here is the finished piece with more natural lighting and taken with a better camera. I really like the way this came out.
